The Elements Center: Where Good People Happen
Two weekends ago we spent Saturday at the Elements Center off of Providence Rd. in Virginia Beach. They were putting on a craft bazaar for local artists and we were lucky enough to have been invited. It was a small show but most of the people that came seemed very intrigued by our work and spent a while chatting with us and debating on what would make the best gift for multiple members of their families or themselves, it’s okay to indulge every once in a while! The woman that was set up in the booth next to us had some amazing home made jellies and jams.
We were also fortunate enough to speak with the owner of the studio about putting some of our pieces in their consignment shop. This is something that we will be pursuing soon. If you are ever in need of a good massage, which we were given while at the show and it was awesome, or if you just want to practice your yoga please check out the Elements Center.

Horse Pasture Squared
The guys and I were walking around the industrial park where we’re located (Taylor Farms Commerce Center) when we noticed something kind of funny. We’re not just found at 2505 Horse Pasture Road but actually on the corner of Horse Pasture Road and Horse Pasture Road. Who knew it could be so simple and yet so confusing. Confusing because, unfortunately, it’s a little difficult to find the park. Don’t worry, we’re not complaining. We love our studio and enjoy the random times when family, friends, and new customers stop by to catch up and check out the studio.
If you ever do have problems finding us Google maps does a good job explaining how to find us or feel free to give us a call at the studio (757.301.9681).
Anyway, thanks for visiting the blog. We’ll be posting new artwork and developments soon!

Building Out: The Studio Comes to Life
The search for the location that would soon become Copper Art Designs studio, gallery and offices began in December of 2007. We were fortunate that at the time there was a new industrial park development just a few miles between the suburbs where we all live. We decided that this would be the spot. Slow moving loans and paper work set us up to finally get into the studio in late March of 2008.
From there ensued a long build out process with our contractor to get the basic structure of our walls, electrical work and ceilings in place. These were probably the most anxious months as we stood by waiting to get our tools, work benches and ideas in place. This was also the time that we expanded our learning from not just the new found copper art work we had been pursuing but we got our hands dirty with building benches and other assorted work room furniture. We painted walls and we stained floor boards. We put in tile panels and we arranged and rearranged the layouts of just about everything.
While our friends and family waited, often times wondering what we were doing, we worked day and night to clean, build and set up the studio. We learned every crack and bowed section of wall; there wasn’t an inch that we didn’t come to know. Once the studio started to take shape time seemed to fly right on by and before we realized it we were tired-eyed and weary as we prepared for the opening night of the gallery. At this point the studio, after much ado, came to life!
These photos chronicle the months of March through June as key steps and milestones in the build out were either started or completed.
Copper Art Designs Studio and Gallery is located at 2505 Horse Pasture Rd. in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We are open from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for walk in visits. Contact us to set up an appointment.
